Last year,the best successful chipset maker is nVIDIA. they ate 3DFX. so they have 3DFX's technoloies easily. GeForce2 GTS and GeForce2 MX made nVIDIA to be successful chipset provider. in addition to that. there are additional supporters. GeForce2 Go for notebook PC and GeForce2 MX for MAC. nVIDIA can't forget last year!

So, you know well that i have no mention as a followed question. "why GeForce2 GTS and MX were loved by many user?" their 3D accelation is faster than other chipset provider's. the speed of 3D accelation is horror needle for other chipset provider. like a child fears an injection needle.

But, there are ATI. ATI getting lose to nVIDIA in OEM market. to refund that. ATI has earn time to revenge by announcing a monster called FURY MAXX. after that, they released RADEON aplied charisma engine finally. moreover they started to catch up with nVIDIA's MX by poviding LE chipset in value market in korea. and nVIDIA will face a crisis because KYRO and KYRO II also will have some occupation of nVIDIA's. so they planed to try something.

It's seperation that means GeForce3 in high-end market and GeForce2 MX in low-end market. but nobody saw GeForce3 yet. i think there are some problem with GeForce3. Announcing new product will be heavy load for anyone.

You could know there is no difference between MX-400 and MX from table. improving clock frequency from 175 to 200. by that texture fillate improving rate. that's all you can expect. MX-400 is king of new MX series. you hadn't better expect another MX series(200, 100)'s performance because MX-400' performance is same with old MX.
